Dragos Daniel Marcu, the 31-year-old Romanian wanted on charges of kidnapping and raping a 16-year-old girl last Wednesday, was arrested by police at the Latina police headquarters. From what we learn, the man was hiding at Mistral, the abandoned factory in Pontenuovo, in the territory of Sermoneta, in the province of Latina.

The young man was already known to law enforcement for petty crimes and his drug addiction. He was identified by the 16-year-old and the 18-year-old boy who was with her, through a mugshot: the latter would have found him last Wednesday, the day of the attack, intent on taking drugs with crack cocaine inside the abandoned site of the former sugar factory in Via delle Industrie, now in a complete state of neglect and degradation, where the two had arrived by microcar parking within the area of over 10,000 square meters.

At the time of the attack, the sixteen-year-old's friend was violently hit by the suspect, then the attacker allegedly left with the young woman on board the boys' mini car, then abused the sixteen-year-old until morning, and then disappeared.
