Announcing the First Arabic Content Award in the «Metaverse»

Promoting Emirati media at the heart of AI journalism in Dubai

Farouk El-Baz: "Arab youth should take promising technological developments as promising opportunities to develop their skills and innovate new tools and solutions."

Egyptian space scientist Professor Farouk El-Baz will open the sessions of the third edition of the Global Forum on Artificial Intelligence Journalism, addressing Arab youth from within the Metaverse space of the forum. Through the forum's sessions, which is organized by the UAE Journalists Association, in cooperation with the Artificial Intelligence Journalism Foundation for Research and Foresight, the Emirates Vision Media Foundation, and the Social Media Pioneers Association.

This year's forum will be held under the title "Creative Media Industries in Light of Advanced Technology (Artificial Intelligence and Metaverse)" on the ninth and tenth of May, in cooperation with the UAE Journalists Association.

Prof. Farouk El-Baz stressed the importance of Arab youth taking from the rapid technological developments promising opportunities to develop their skills, and to innovate new tools and solutions that enhance the Arab labor market in sectors such as artificial intelligence, metaverse and the digital economy.

Mohammed Al Hammadi, Chairman of the UAE Journalists Association, said: "Through this year's forum, the association seeks to support all efforts to encourage journalists to deal with artificial intelligence by promoting the culture of artificial intelligence in the UAE media, and integrating its various technologies in various media sectors, to be a nucleus to enhance the skills of journalists within the UAE, and enable them with all artificial intelligence tools and solutions."

Dr. Mohamed Abdel Zaher, CEO of the Artificial Intelligence Press Foundation and Chairman of the Forum, pointed out that this year's forum will witness the announcement of the first international award for Arabic content in the metaverse, in which 12 different spaces from four Arab countries have so far participated.

A number of government representatives from the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and the Arab Republic of Egypt will participate in the forum, in addition to more than 20 universities, and 30 Arab and foreign media outlets.

The winners will be announced for the first Metaverse Communication and Content Creation Award, the first of its kind in the world.
