Mamoro Yokota, the creator of the famous Japanese cartoon character "Naruto", presented his magic recipe for drawing and designing giant robots and superheroes of various types and shapes, and how to adapt them within manga and anime series, to the participants of the "Sharjah Animation Conference" within the activities of its last day.

During a workshop titled "How to Draw Giant Robots and Anime Superheroes", Yokota drew the audience's attention with a live pencil drawing session, in a vibrant interactive atmosphere, presenting part of his experience and career, as he worked as a director and illustrator in many world-famous animated films and series, such as: "DNA", "Death Note", "NarutoShippuden", and "Gatchaman Crowds".

In response to a participant's question about why he worked in animation, Yokota replied that it all started from the restaurant where he worked as a young man: "I was fascinated by the character drawings hanging on the walls of the restaurant, and I felt excited and passionate to explore this world full of curiosity and creativity." "Every joint of a robot is of great importance, when we add or remove a joint, we have a completely different personality, and whatever the type or shape of the robot, the story, characterization of the characters, the type of lines and angles, all determine the final character," Yokota said.

Yokota pointed out that there are two types of robots, namely giant robots, whose sizes are supernatural, and realistic robots, which are subject to the laws of physics and technological restrictions, where the two types differ in terms of design method and personal qualities, in addition to their movements and combat methods, pointing out that the drawings of giant robots began to spread outside Japan, away from the video game sector, and are used in many films.

It is noteworthy that the Sharjah Animation Conference, the first of its kind in the region, brought together over three days a group of the most famous artists, illustrators, directors and producers in the animation industry around the world with the aim of developing the animation industry in the UAE and the Arab region, through a variety of specialized courses, film screenings, meetings and interactive workshops.
