A tarab evening that brought together two generations, presented on the stage of Dubai Opera the day before yesterday, where Sultan Tarab George Wassouf performed his first concert this year after the death of his son Wadih at the end of last year, with the Lebanese artist Adam, and presented the audience with an unforgettable concert for more than three hours. The concert, which was organised by Moments Event in cooperation with the Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE), was marked by great interaction from the audience who adores the Sultan of Tarab and is loyal to him, as well as the artist Adam, who is considered a young generation distinguished by his own calligraphy, whether in melody or word.
The concert began with the appearance of the Lebanese artist Adam, where he raised the curtain to the sound of the music of "Kalima Helwa" by Dalida, and then presented a bouquet of his famous songs, mixing between old and new, especially songs that were widely spread among the young generation, including "Ala Bali", "Khalsat Al-Hekaya", and "This is Me". The songs of the young Lebanese artist carry a calm and oriental rhythm, especially the romantic songs that painted his beginning, which he presented with the participation of the audience in singing, including the song "Khals Al-Damaa". Adam also had experiences in presenting series songs, most notably the song «Sham», which he presented twice in a row in the concert at the insistence of the audience by singing it again, to conclude his look on the stage, which reached an hour and a half with tarab songs, where he presented the song «I lie to you» by Warda Al-Jazariya, and the song «Al-Asami» by the artist Zikra. At the end of the ceremony, the artist Adam expressed his joy at being on the Dubai Opera Stage, and with the distinguished Dubai audience, pointing out that this concert is one of the most beautiful concerts he presented, due to the interaction of the large audience with him, and he also expressed his happiness to be a participant in a concert with the Sultan of Tarab George Wassouf, stressing that it is an honor for him to open a concert for him, and that he will not hesitate to repeat this experience repeatedly.
After Adam finished singing, the media Nishan Sultan of Tarab, who talked about his most beloved title to his heart, which is «Abu Wadi», pointing out that it is his first concert and his soul mate has been absent, and pointed out that life has wrestled him a lot, but he was always winning and triumphing and not breaking, speaking about the difficulty of losing his son and his ability to always continue success despite the harsh circumstances. Then Sultan Tarab appeared amid the applause of his audience very warm to the beat of the song «Sahrat Al-Lail», to follow the concert with a mixture of his old and new songs.
The loyal audience of George Wassouf is the one who distinguished the concert, which lasted until after midnight, so he was repeating with Al-Wassouf the most beautiful songs engraved in conscience and memory, including «Yaly Taabna years Fahawak», «Btaabni ala Kalim», and «Al-Hawa Sultan». At the concert, Wassouf presented a group of songs that date back to the last periods of his artistic career, including "I lost all the people", "The heart of the lover is his guide", and "The science of my heart is longing".
The concert did not pass without stopping at the memory of his son and the pain of his loss, as he stopped while presenting the song «Ya Bayain Al-Hawa», at the word «in the blink of an eye», saying about his son: «missed in the blink of an eye», and then continued to sing crying and expressing his wound, which has no cure.
As for the tarab paragraphs that the audience used to hear from the Sultan of Tarab, they were present at the concert with the presentation of the song «Aroh Lameen» for the planet of the East um Kulthum, as well as the presentation of «Qadak Al-Mayas» from the Syrian heritage, to close the curtain on the concert with the song «Habbet Ermi Al-Shabak».
