Khawla for Art and Culture showcases the arts of Arabic calligraphy in Spain

Khawla for Art and Culture at the University of Navarra in Spain organized an artistic workshop entitled "Creating a Monogram of Two Letters in Arabic Calligraphy", in the presence of distinguished university students, and a number of artists, specialists and those interested in the arts of Arabic calligraphy.

The workshop, presented by Iraqi artist and designer Wissam Shawkat, comes within the framework of Khawla Art and Culture's keenness to enhance cultural and artistic communication and convergence among the peoples of the world, spread the ancient art of Arabic calligraphy, and introduce its schools, trends and details.

The wife of H.H. Sheikh Tahnoun bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Ruler of Abu Dhabi, and H.H. Sheikha Khawla bint Ahmed Khalifa Al Suwaidi, Chairperson of Khawla Art and Culture, stressed that calligraphy has played an important role throughout the ages in documenting science and rapprochement of peoples, through knowledge, and contributed to opening the door to cultural dialogue between peoples and civilizations, and enhancing the communication of nations. In addition to providing a cultural platform for those wishing to learn this art from different countries of the world, enabling them to learn this type of cultural art, in terms of its patterns, flags and rules, and the new features of development and renewal in its formations over the centuries.

Her Highness Sheikha Khawla bint Ahmed Khalifa Al Suwaidi pointed out that Khawla Art and Culture seeks to organize workshops and lectures in various countries of the world, and to cooperate with local and international creators and artists, with the aim of enhancing artistic, cultural and civilizational interaction.
