Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran's shrink? There's a little bit of that, according to the interview that the singer gave Thursday to Zane Lowe for Apple Music and covered by NME. The author of Shape of You has indeed lifted the veil on the very strong friendship that binds him to the American artist. "It's kind of like therapy, because you're talking to someone who really understands how you're feeling," he explains.

Coming to promote his new album called (Subtract), he revealed that he has "long, long, long conversations with Taylor about certain things because I feel like she's one of the only people who really understands where I stand".

And the singer of Shake It Off is obviously very involved in her mission. "I had an hour-and-a-half conversation with her yesterday and we talked about everything that came to mind. I mean it's in itself a kind of therapy, because you're talking to someone who really understands what you're going through," he continued. "She knows all the things and insecurities you feel, the way others treat you, the way your family treats you, the way your friends treat you. It is essentially in the same sphere. He added: "I have the same kind of friendship with Stormzy, I know what he's going through and we can talk about it. His friends would be like mine, they would say the same things."

Ed Sheeran's new album is out today. Good news never comes alone, he has also just won his plagiarism lawsuit, in which his hit song Thinking Out Loud was accused of copying Marvin Gaye's Let's Get It On. He may be able to free Taylor Swift's line for a while!
