When royal protocol requires a visit to the pub, William and Kate are not asked. This lunchtime, the Prince and Princess of Wales went to "buy" a small pint at the pub, a classic stop in the United Kingdom.

This is their first official appearance during this historic week that will end with the coronation of Charles III. The news was announced in a post on the royal family's official Twitter account, in a video where Kate Middleton is seen behind the pressure machine of a Belfast bar, in 2109, dexterously filling a pint of beer.

Let the beer flow freely

This time, it is at the Dog & Duck Pub, in Soho, that Prince William, 40, and his wife, 41, have planned to throw one. And as can be seen on the Instagram account of the heirs to the crown, the Princess of Wales has not lost her dexterity behind zinc.

The pub belongs to the historic Nicholson chain, which celebrates its 150th anniversary this year, and which was founded by William Nicholson, politician, cricketer, benefactor ... and distiller.

This outing aims to highlight popular events around the coronation of King Charles III and Queen Camilla. The young couple is also due to meet representatives of other hospitality and leisure businesses in this vibrant West End area.

Three days of celebration are planned around the coronation. On Friday and Saturday nights, pubs, bars and clubs in England and Wales (but not Scotland and Northern Ireland) will remain open for another two hours. In other words, it will take endurance to the British who will still have Monday to recover. William and Kate, on the other hand, decided to take the pressure off before all the paternal ceremonial.
