The prosecutor's office, which conducted a supplementary investigation into the "Gangnam Gakuen Street Drug and Drink Case," charged the party that manufactured and supplied the drinks with "drug use of minors for profit," which carries the maximum penalty of death, and sent them to trial in custody.

The Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office's Dedicated Investigation Team (Team Leader Shin Jun-ho, Head of the Violent Crime Investigation Department) today (4th) arrested and charged 26-year-old Gil Mo, a manufacturer and supplier of narcotic beverages in the "Gangnam Gakuen Street Drug Drinks" case, on charges such as violating the Narcotics Control Act (Hyangjeong).

In addition, 39-year-old Kim Mo, who was in charge of managing the telephone repeater who is currently in custody, and 36-year-old Park Mo (Chinese), who supplied meth, were also brought to trial on charges of membership and activity in a criminal organization and violation of the Narcotics Control Act, respectively.

Prosecutors specifically charged Mr. Gilmo with "for-profit drug possession of minors," which carries a maximum penalty of death.

Noting that he tricked an unspecified juvenile into administering a drug drink and used it as a means of extortion, he applied the aggravated punishment provisions.

In addition, we arrested Mr. Lee Mo, an accomplice in his 40s who played a role in recruiting and connecting members of the organization, and requested an arrest warrant yesterday.

Mr. Lee, who was in the country, was caught by the prosecutor's supplementary investigation as an accomplice who was not caught during the police investigation stage.

Since Mr. Lee, who was caught, is known to have directly recruited and connected members of the organization who were active in Korea with accomplices staying in China, it is expected that additional accomplices at home and abroad can be identified and tracked through future investigations.

In order to arrest accomplices in China, the Prosecutor's Investigation Team, together with the Narcotics and Organized Crime Division of the Supreme Prosecutors' Office, the International Cooperation Agency, and the Chinese Legal Cooperation Officer, is expanding the tracking by providing all traceability data on accomplices' locations in China to the International Joint Venture Bureau of the Ministry of Public Security.

An official of the prosecutor's investigation team said, "We will work closely with the police to thoroughly investigate the accomplices who are scheduled to be extradited, and we will make every effort to maintain the prosecution of the accused defendants."
