There are hospitals that attract people from all over the country to rumor that taking medicine from
certain hospitals will make you lose weight. I stand in line all night, and the problem is that this drug is narcotic. Even non-obese patients were prescribed various tricks.

Reporter Kim Hye-min contributed to this report.

<Reporters>

Long lines, camping chairs, blankets, and even mats sleeping on them.

It is in front of a hospital in Seoul, which is called the "holy land" of diet medicine.

There are also people who stand in line instead.

A 162cm, 50kg reporter also deposited 13,6 won to Mr. A, who was acting in line, and waited overnight at around 40:8 a.m.

At 10 a.m., hospital staff showed up for work, handed out tickets, and by 2 a.m., I was able to enter the doctor's office.

[Doctor A: For those who are losing weight like this, the treatment period should be very short, so you have to work harder.]

Those who have come more than twice can only say hello to the doctor,

[Nurse A: OO, I'll just say hello, I'll give you a prescription at the front.]

I was able to get the same prescription with a small increase in drug intensity.

The hospital will prescribe toothpaste for 28 days and tell you to go only to certain pharmacies to get the medicine.

[Nurse A: If you go out and look behind you, there's an optician, if you walk all the way through....] [(Can I go somewhere other than here?) No, it's just our pharmacy.]

Another hospital in Boryeong, Chungnam, known as the 'Holy Land of Diet Medicine'.

A camera reporter classified as mildly obese was prescribed 12 types of diet pills.

I picked up a prescription from a reporter in Seoul and asked an expert.

[Kim Jong-un/Pharmacist: It's written like a code, and it's a code given by the hospital itself, and there is a drug with a similar name, so it's presumed 'this is it.']

Looking for each one, there are as many as 14 types of appetite suppressants, antidepressants, diabetic drugs, and diuretics, classified as psychotropic drugs.

Take 3 times a day, swallowing up to 13 tablets at a time.

[Kim Jong-un/Pharmacist: You see half a white pill here, right? It's an ingredient called diethylpropion, and there's a drug we're worried about. It's a derivative of meth. Auditory hallucinations, hallucinations like this (side effects). I advise you not to take it with the fluoxetine or diethylpropion ingredient here. This increases the possibility of side effects. It can make suicidal thoughts or depression a little worse....]

Especially when taken by people of normal weight, the side effects are serious.

These hospitals were even under police investigation for alleged misuse of medical narcotics, which the Food and Drug Administration commissioned in January.
