Today (3rd) is a barley field in Chungnam. You can see very clear skies. In Seoul and other central regions, we could see the blue sky in May. However, rain clouds are approaching ahead of the holidays. In Jeju, it has already started raining from today, and it is expected to rain all over the country, including the capital area, tomorrow afternoon. The rains will intensify from Children's Day and will stop until Saturday, the 5th. It is said that the wind is also strong, so those who plan to travel should be well prepared so as not to cause damage.

Reporter Seo Dong-gyun reports.

Rain clouds that developed over the
West Sea are covering Jeju Island.

It started raining on Jeju Island during the day today, and it will intensify in earnest tomorrow.

This is because a large amount of warm water vapor flows in due to the influence of low pressure and high pressure located on the East Sea in the West Sea, and atmospheric instability will intensify even in the central region where cold and dry air stays, resulting in heavy rain.

Starting with Hunan and Gyeongnam tomorrow morning, it will expand to the entire country, including the capital region, in the afternoon.

Rain will continue in most areas until the day after tomorrow, with more than 6mm forecast in many mountainous areas of Jeju Island, 400~50mm near the south coast, Jeju Island, and Jirisan, more than 150mm in many places in the Seoul metropolitan area and Yeongseo in Gangwon, and 120~30mm in other parts of the country.

Jeju Island and the south coast are expected to fall heaviest overnight, while the central region and Honam are expected to fall heaviest from the afternoon of Children's Day, the first day of the holiday.

[Park Jung-min/Japan Meteorological Agency forecast analyst: There will be places with heavy rains of more than 100 mm per hour on Jeju Island, the south coast, and near Jirisan, and 30 to 20 mm per hour mainly in the central region.]

Strong winds will blow in most parts of the country, and the winds will be fierce.

If you are planning a holiday trip due to the expected delays or cancellations of passenger flights and ferries, checking the weather is essential.

Various events for Children's Day were also disrupted.

The Blue House's first Children's Day event since its opening has been partially postponed.

[Kim Tae-yeon/Korea Cultural Heritage Foundation PD: Some performances, such as children's musicals, will be moved to the interior of the Spring Pavilion East Sea. Outdoor programs being prepared at the Blue House Trail will be postponed to May 30.]

As one person went missing and many people were evacuated due to heavy rains that fell during a similar period in 5, it is necessary to prepare for major damage during the holiday season.
