«Award» announces the winners of the competitions «At Work» and «Silence»

The General Secretariat of the Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum International Photography Award revealed the winners of the Instagram competition for the months of February and March, as their themes were "At Work" and "Silence".

The list of winners reflected the entry of the Egyptian lens into competition with Indonesian continuous superiority, with a creative duality. In addition to distinguished individual achievements from Turkey, the Philippines, Vietnam, India and Bangladesh.

The winners of the February "At Work" competition were signed by Indonesian photographers Agostins Elwan and photographer Inda Sagita Kaban, along with Egypt's Samar Kamaluddin Mohamed Farag, India's Baron Kumar Rajaria and Abubakar Siddiq Immun (Bangladesh). As for the March list "Silence", it witnessed the brilliance of an Egyptian Arab, through photographer Ahmed Salem Ragheb, along with Indonesian Alexander Bryan, Turkish Serkan Ozkan, Filipino Christopher Andres, and Vietnamese Nguyen Doi Quang.

The winners will receive a medal of appreciation for the award, and their photos and names will be posted on the official account of the award on Instagram (HIPAae).

For his part, the Secretary General of the Award, Ali Khalifa bin Thalith, said: "We are pleased with the increase in the number of participants in the monthly competition on the Instagram platform, and the development of the level of participating works over time, and we are even more pleased with the increasing number of amateur winners who have gained confidence, experience and boldness to interact and compete on larger and more difficult occasions, including the main competition of the Award (diversity) with its various axes. The exponential growth of these categories is an accurate indication that we are on the right track." He added: "Maintaining self-education and acquiring knowledge from different and diverse sources increases the readiness of photographers to interact with the various life topics presented in competitions, so we always advise paying attention to this aspect. Congratulations to the winners and wish all participants success in the upcoming events."

For her part, the Egyptian photographer Samar, said about her winning picture in the competition «at work»: «I took it during a trip with friends to the city of Tanta, I saw that lady selling fruit (tangerine) on the corner of the road, so I chose a suitable angle to take the picture of her».

She continued: «I have been participating in HEPA competitions for years, and my happiness was indescribable when I learned of my victory, this victory made me more famous and present in the photographer communities, and gave me energy to continue, as I am always working to develop myself, and I aspire to study photography by specialized bodies».

Egyptian photographer Ahmed Salem Ragheb explained that he took his winning photo of the "Silence" competition in the charity city of Qanater during a trip with friends: "We were photographing the beautiful biodiversity in this area, which is famous for its wooden boats and rocky waterfalls designed to prevent the strong flow of water of the Nile River. During sunrise the water waterfall was covered by fog, while the egret standing alone at the top of the waterfall, it was a sight that called for silence and nurtured a sense of beauty." "This is my first win in HEPA competitions, and it has given me great enthusiasm, and has given me a greater ability to communicate my work to people."
