Police surround the vehicle and arrest a foreigner who refuses to come out.

This is Mr. A, a member of the organization who has been selling drugs mainly in the southern coastal areas such as Geoje and Tongyeong.

Inside the vehicle, drugs hidden in barrels come out.

The Maritime Police detained seven members of the distribution group, including Mr. A, a Vietnamese citizen in his 20s, for violating the Narcotics Control Act, and handed over eight people, including a Vietnamese citizen in his 7s, to the prosecutor's office on suspicion of taking drugs.

They avoided the crackdown by supplying drugs imported from Southeast Asia through overseas mail to middlemen and then passing them back to other sellers they did not know.

The drugs were sold to foreigners, including sailors and shipyard welders, through singing bars and clubs dedicated to foreigners along the south coast.

[Lee Jung-suk/Chief of the Investigation Division of the Tongyeong Marine Police Station: (They) used social media used in a specific country to supply drugs, and after supplying them, they were careful to delete them.]

They used the so-called "throwing method" of leaving drugs in a specific place and disappearing, and in the process of arresting them, the Coast Guard confiscated drugs worth 20 million won, including ecstasy and ketamine.

The Coast Guard believes there may be more similar distribution organizations and plans to expand the investigation to include the South Coast area.
