There are many businesses besides the ones you
just saw that make it difficult for prospective newlyweds.

In particular, there are many cases in which people ask for additional fees every time they do something, and a reporter from Park Sewon covered the situation.

Mr. A, who is planning to get married later
this year, received a strange request while looking for a wedding venue in January.

I was told that if I didn't sign a contract on the day of my visit, I would add 1 million won from the total amount, so I decided to pay 100 million won as a down payment that day.

The wedding venue then told me that refunds could only be made on the day of the contract, and I had them write in their own handwriting, "If you change your mind from the next day, you will give up the entire down payment."

[Mr. A: Even if you give up, you will blow 100 million won, and even if you open your eyes immediately and decide tomorrow, 100 million won will fly.

Two weeks later, Mr. A found a wedding venue he liked more and demanded a refund, but the venue refused based on the handwritten contract.

Mr. B chose a dress from a dress company before he got married, but he was asked for an additional fee of 100,2 won because it was a new outfit that he had never worn.

[Mr. B: Actually, 30,30 won is a small amount, and some people originally received more than 100 million won.]

You've already paid for the dress in one lump sum.

Two hours later, when they said they would change dress companies, they demanded a penalty of 2,44 won.

[Mr. B: I kept it, so no one else saw it during that time, so the damage was caused in the shop.]

In the last three years, the Consumer Counseling Center has received nearly 3,7 complaints related to wedding services.

There is a consumer dispute resolution standard that requires refunds of down payment up to 150 days before the ceremony, but it is only a recommendation, and the reality is that it is not easy to get prompt relief if the company does not respond to the mediation application.
