Armed robbers raided a luxury jewelry store on elegant Place Vendôme in downtown Paris in broad daylight on Saturday. According to the French police, three perpetrators on motorcycles drove up to 13:45 p.m. in front of the branch of the luxury jeweler Bulgari on the square, which is popular with tourists. Two men then entered the store and, according to estimates, stole jewelry worth several million euros.

The same Bulgari store in the French capital had already been robbed in September 2021. At that time, the robbers had made loot worth an estimated ten million euros.

Videos circulated online after Saturday's robbery show two black motorcycles parked on the sidewalk in front of the jewelry store on Place Vendôme. A man dressed in black with a helmet and a gun is apparently standing in front of the Schmiere shop. Later, three men flee on the motorcycles.

The Paris prosecutor's office said it was investigating an armed robbery. The damage could not yet be quantified exactly, said in the evening from investigators. However, it is estimated at several million euros.

After the robbery of the Bulgari store in 2021, one of the robbers had been injured in the leg by a police officer while fleeing. He was arrested, charged and remanded in custody. Then, in June 2022, two more suspects were arrested. They have also been charged and are in custody.
