The case of the Mansoura student returns to the street. Naira Ashraf's family demands EGP 10 mn compensation from killer

A new controversy erupted in the Egyptian street over the case of Mansoura University student, Naira Ashraf, who was slaughtered by her colleague Mohamed Adel in the street for refusing to marry him, after the victim's family filed a lawsuit demanding compensation of 10 million pounds from the killer.

Indeed, the Belqas Court in Dakahlia, north of Cairo, has set a session for next Sunday to consider the compensation lawsuit.

What called for controversy and questioning is the feasibility of the compensation claim against him while he is meters away from the gallows. Is his family obliged to pay compensation after his execution?

Legal experts confirmed in a report to "Sky News Arabia" that in the event of a judgment of compensation, the family of the killer, in the event of his execution already, will be obliged to implement it in one case specified by law, which is that they have inherited from him money that is not enough to pay compensation.
Mohamed al-Sayed, a lawyer at the courts of appeal and an expert in compensation cases, said that if the verdict is issued, it will of course be executed, but most likely it will be issued and executed on the killer's money and estate. If there is no money for the murderer, the sentence that will be handed down will not be carried out because there is no money for the convict.
Mohamed Islah, a lawyer at the Egyptian Court of Cassation, agreed with him, stressing that the murderer had reached the legal age of majority and therefore the compensation ruling applies to him alone and his money and not to his family because they are not his watchdog or his actions.
