The collection of certain garbage is no longer carried out in several communes of Seine-et-Marne. In question, a social movement for several weeks but also a more recent event, says The Republic of Seine-et-Marne. Acts of vandalism were perpetrated in the night from Wednesday to Thursday in the premises of the intercommunal union Sivom Vallée de l'Yerres et des Sénarts.

A complaint has been filed by the managers of the site located near Combs-la-Ville (Seine-et-Marne) and an investigation is underway. No less than 18 collection trucks, two light vehicles and two sweepers were damaged. Tires were punctured, windshields covered with paint and fire extinguishers were emptied into the cabins.

"A scandalous step" taken

Guy Geoffroy, mayor of Combs-la-Ville and president of the Sivom union office, reacted by denouncing the crossing of "a scandalous step" as well as "a degradation of equipment made to prevent non-striking employees from working". The damage caused a disruption of the collection system, particularly in Combs-la-Ville, Moissy-Cramayel and Brie-Comte-Robert (Seine-et-Marne) where the dumps are also closed. The collection of bulky items, brown bins and glass is no longer provided.
