On February 4, a 22-year-old student had fatally fallen from a merry-go-round in Clermont-Ferrand (Puy-de-Dôme). Since then, an investigation has been opened and the attraction has been placed under seal, pending various analyses. This did not prevent the "Maxximum" from being robbed, in the night from Thursday to Friday last, reports La Montagne.

According to our colleagues, criminals would have broken the tapes installed on the merry-go-round to steal sound equipment. Since the tragedy, the attraction is at a standstill. The company that operated it has been charged with "manslaughter" and is no longer allowed to use it.

'It's catastrophic'

A first expertise has already been carried out but the investigators are waiting for a second, more advanced. "To the extent that the seals have been moved, where the scene has been modified, it is catastrophic," lament to La Montage the lawyers of the mother of the victim. The latter fear that the burglary will hinder the search for the truth in this case and that the expertise will be questioned during the trial. Lawyers are also afraid that the merry-go-round will suffer further intrusions.

In addition, investigations are continuing to shed light on this fatal accident. Investigators are still looking for the employee in charge of checking passenger safety. This undeclared worker fled after the tragedy.
