Sometimes I fall asleep in bed without taking off my socks because I'm tired.

Studies have shown that socks are likely to contain the same bacteria that come from cockroaches, and that bacteria can migrate to the mattress, so care should be taken.

A British sleep products company collected bacteria from several pairs of socks worn from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. and analyzed them and found that Pseudomonas aeruginosa was found in half of them.

Pseudomonas aeruginosa is a bacterium found in cockroaches and cockroach feces that causes inflammation of the airways and urinary tract in people with reduced immunity and even causes rashes in people with sensitive skin.

On the other hand, sleeping in cleanly laundered socks can help.

One study found that people who wear socks fall asleep 7.5 minutes faster and sleep 32 minutes longer, even though their body temperature drops before falling asleep.

Users responded, "How many people sleep in socks in Korea?", "It's important to have skin and air contact when your feet are tired", and "Sleeping socks are good".
