The municipality of Annecy (Haute-Savoie) has decided to experiment with new bins on public space, reported Sunday Le Dauphiné Libéré. These "sorting terminals", of a substantial size, will be proposed to fight in particular against food waste from holidaymakers. They will have two openings: a yellow one for products to be recycled and a grey one for household waste.

A dozen collection points were targeted by the town hall. In particular, "squares and squares welcoming users during meal times," explains Guillaume Cohen, deputy mayor in charge of urban cleanliness quoted by the daily.

Anticipating the Agec law

These mega-bins will soon be presented to catering businesses offering takeaway. For the town hall of Annecy, it is also a question of anticipating one of the measures of the Agec law (anti-waste law). It plans to generalize sorting bins in public spaces by 2025, to allow "the French to sort their waste even outside their home".
