Singer Adele picked up talk show host James Corden for a "Carpool Karaoke" tour before his very last "The Late Late Show". In the clip published on YouTube, the two Brits and good friends drive through Los Angeles and sing songs such as Adele's "Rolling in the Deep", "Hometown Glory" and "I Drink Wine" together – the latter she wrote after an emotional conversation with Corden, as the Oscar, Golden Globe and Grammy winner explained on the car ride. In the video, the 34-year-old singer can be seen surprising Corden – one of her best friends "all over the world" according to her words – in his house and getting behind the wheel herself for a change.

"This is the very last time I'll do this, and it blew my mind that you did this for me," the 44-year-old Corden said towards the end of their ride together. The father of three, who had hosted the "Late Late Show" since 2015, had announced last year that he wanted to move back to England with his family from the USA and therefore quit the show. The final show will air next Thursday on U.S. television on CBS and Paramount+.

He and Adele had already organized a "Carpool Karaoke" in 2016. The video had been viewed more than 260 million times, making it Corden's most-watched YouTube clip ever.

Other celebrities who drove around with the presenter and actor, including Barbra Streisand, Madonna, Paul McCartney and the then First Lady of the USA, Michelle Obama, have not broken Adele's record so far.
