A man, suspected of having stolen a motorcycle cross, was arrested by the gendarmes, and placed in custody, last weekend, in the Gard. It was the owner of the bike who warned the police: while walking on a famous online sales site, the Gardois recognized his motorcycle, put on sale by an illustrious unknown.
With the complicity of the gendarmes, the owner set up a well-known ruse: he contacted the unscrupulous seller, and set an appointment with him. Of course, the gendarmes of the Marguerittes brigade were not far away. The suspect was arrested, and placed in police custody, where he had to explain himself to investigators. As for the motorcycle, it was returned to its rightful owner, who had been stolen about a month ago.
