Weather conditions do not allow the use of helicopters

Aosta Valley: three mountain accidents between Monte Rosa, Gran Paradiso and Rifugio Mantova

The Aosta Valley Alpine Rescue intervened in all three situations

A mountaineer was injured after falling into a crevasse on the Aosta Valley side of the Monte Rosa massif, at an altitude of 4,400 meters. The Aosta Valley Alpine Rescue intervened on the spot. Due to the ongoing snowfall at high altitude, the helicopter reached up to 3,500 meters above sea level, leaving the rescue team to continue by land. Once reached, the injured person was secured to a toboggan and then transported by rescuers to the helicopter. When rescuers arrived, the man had already been pulled to the surface by his companions and his condition, which appears good, will be evaluated by the crew doctor.

Rescue also for two other non-serious accidents (leg trauma) on the Gran Paradiso and at the Mantova refuge.
