A vehicle whose driver "would have lost control" "accidentally knocked over" Saturday ten people, injured without gravity, in Berck-sur-Mer, where are held the "international kite meetings", we learned from the prefecture of Pas-de-Calais.

According to the first elements, "it would be elderly people, who would have lost control of their vehicle, at low speed," said the prefecture to AFP. The car "ran over a dozen people, all of whom are conscious," it said.

In total, the rescue services identified 11 victims, including 10 classified as "relative emergencies" and one child shocked. All were taken to the hospital of Rang-du-Fliers, said the firefighters.

Not intentional

"This is not at all intentional, the elements that come back to us report something really accidental," said the prefecture. Organized by the city, the international kite meetings of Berck bring together each year, over several days, hundreds of thousands of spectators from all over the world.

The program is punctuated by demonstrations of aerial choreography, machine building workshops and events of the world championship of acrobatic kite.
