As he himself informs in the video message in which he explains his "no" to the La7 special scheduled for Sunday on his story (which in fact is quickly canceled), Massimo Giletti, the host of "Non è l'Arena", whose transmission was suspended by La7, was heard again today as a person informed about the facts by the Florence prosecutor as part of the ongoing investigation into the alleged instigators of the 1993 mafia massacres. It is the third time that the magistrates listen to Giletti: the previous ones were on December 19, 2022 and March 27.

"There are events that cannot be resolved within a television studio, they must be addressed in the designated places. I have just left the Florence prosecutor's office, this makes you understand the complex, difficult and delicate situation we are experiencing. I really say thank you to Mentana but I can't participate in the La7 special on Sunday". These are the words with which Giletti explains himself, in the video shot in front of the offices of the Florence Public Prosecutor's Office. "I owe it to the magistrates who are working on this investigation and also to respect myself. I will speak at the right time, this is not the time and the right way to do it," he added.

In particular, today the journalist was heard by the prosecutor of the District Anti-Mafia Directorate, Luca Tescaroli (the same who carried out Mafia Capitale) and by the investigators of the Dia directed by Francesco Nannucci. In recent weeks, the Florentine DDA had listened in Palermo to Salvatore Baiardo, the Graviano brothers' trusted man, hosted by Giletti in his program.

Mentana's response

"It is obvious that in the face of the arguments that you can hear, we can only accept Giletti's request to postpone the broadcast to next Sunday". Enrico Mentana's reply arrives on Instagram, announcing that he has decided to postpone the transmission. "In the interview immediately following the sending of the video, it was agreed to try again as soon as the further investigations that have opened will allow an adequate television testimony for the purpose of the transmission", added the director of La7.

Giletti's outburst, this morning, on RTL: "In our country it is not easy to make a certain type of television"

This morning the presenter, returning to the story, during his broadcast on RTL 102.5 together with Luigi Santarelli at the end of the episode said that "In our country it is not easy to make a certain type of television. I would like to say many things, and the day will come when I can say them." When there is a delicate situation, we have a double duty to go to the correct places, I did it, the rest is talk. There are terrible interceptions, where someone important says "Giletti must be closed". I read it in La Repubblica, Marcello Dell'Utri. They are interceptions that make it clear how important that work was. But we do not give up and we will continue to do so".

The presenter then thanked the public who are supporting him stating that he can not say anything else out of respect for the magistrates and the company to which he is still bound by a contract.
