A fire broke out at the Korea Carbon 6 factory in Miryang, Gyeongsangnam early this morning.

The fire burned down one 2,4-square-meter factory building and spread to another nearby factory.

Fire authorities dispatched 7 pieces of equipment, including seven firefighting helicopters, and more than 67 firefighting crews.

The fire spread to Yasan near the plant, fearing it could spread to a wildfire, but fortunately, the initial effort was completed around 300:6 a.m., six hours after the fire started.

The fire was first reported at 11:8 a.m. today.

At one point, the second stage of the fire response was issued, but when the flames were contained, it was downgraded to the first level of response.

More than 4 employees inside the factory were evacuated shortly after the fire broke out, and there are reportedly no casualties so far.

Fire authorities plan to investigate the exact cause of the fire and the area of damage based on the initial reports from officials that the fire started in machinery in the factory.
