An earthquake of magnitude 4.5 (with hypocenter at a depth of 20 kilometers) was recorded, at 14.06, by the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology, in the area of Catania.
The epicenter near Aci Castello, in Catania. From the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology they know how the shock was felt with particular evidence in the Etna area of Acireale and reports arrived up to Caltagirone.
For INGV experts, because of the depth, "the possibility of damage would be surprising", currently not reported.
