This is relief in Alec Baldwin's camp. On Thursday, his lawyers announced the dropping of charges against him in the manslaughter case on the set of Rust.

In October 2021, production of the western was suspended after the actor's accessory weapon discharged during a rehearsal, wounding director Joel Souza and killing cinematographer Halyna Hutchins. Charged with two counts of manslaughter, the actor welcomed the decision to dismiss the case against him.

The lawyer too

Alec Baldwin was quick to celebrate the event by sharing a photo on Instagram with his wife, Hilaria, visibly at the restaurant. The star wanted to pay tribute to those who helped him through this ordeal. The photo shows the actor and Hilaria Baldwin embraced. "I owe everything I have to this woman. (And yours, Luke) " he wrote in commentary, referring to his lawyer, Luke Nikas.

Alec Baldwin was charged in January with two counts of manslaughter. The trial was scheduled to begin in two weeks. He faced up to 18 months behind bars and about $5,000 in fines.

Last October, the 65-year-old artist and the producers reached an agreement with Halyna Hutchins' family. The filming, with the widower of the cinematographer among the producers, should resume soon.
