A man in his 70s who mutilated the body of his deceased son several times has been given a suspended prison sentence.

The Daegu District Court's 4th Criminal Division (Judge Kim Dae-hyun) sentenced Mr. A (20), who was accused of mutilating a dead body, to six months in prison and two years of probation on the 76th.

Mr. A, who has been living alone with his son B in his 6s since divorcing his wife more than 2 years ago, discovered that his son B had made an extreme choice at his home in Nam-gu, Daegu on the morning of March 30 last year.

Later, Mr. A was put on trial for mutilating his son's body several times with a weapon.

However, the investigating agency could not find out why Mr. A damaged his son's body.

In court, Mr. A claimed that he had stabbed him in the room, believing that it was a mannequin and not his son.

However, the tribunal did not accept this.

At that time, Mr. B's corpse was so decayed and discolored that it could not be confused with a mannequin even if it was judged objectively.

The court sentenced him to six months in prison and two years of probation, saying, "After witnessing the death of his son, he was deeply traumatized and took into account the fact that he committed the crime in a hearing that he wanted to deny it, and that he reported himself to the police immediately after the crime."
