Dubai's Mina Rashid is home to the world's largest floating library, the Logos Hope Ship, which is docked on the city's shores until January 23.

Hala Badri, Director General of Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture), inaugurated yesterday, in the presence of DP World's Deputy CEO, Mohammed Al Muallem, the floating library in Dubai, as the emirate is one of the ship's main destinations during its current tour of the region.

During her tour of the floating library, Hala Badri was briefed on a wide range of titles and books that she displays to visitors, as it includes more than 6000,<> titles suitable for all age groups, and pours into all types of knowledge, including stories and novels, and their counterparts specialized in scientific fields.

Hala Badri praised the uniqueness of the idea of the floating library, the Logos Hope ship, and its objectives aimed at spreading knowledge, and providing comprehensive and diverse cultural and scientific experiences, noting that the library contributes to consolidating and supporting reading, which is a major requirement of development, and a key pillar for moving towards the future.

She noted that her visit to the library reflects the interest that Dubai Culture attaches to the objectives of the ship, and its messages in support of spreading culture around the world.

She expressed her happiness that Dubai will be a major stop on the Logos Hope cruise, as this reinforces the emirate's position and leadership on the global map, as a global center for culture, and a global destination for creators and talents.

Owned by the German charity Good Books for All, the Logos Hope seeks to spread culture around the world and a diverse team of more than 60 nationalities. The ship has previously visited Dubai three times between 2011 and 2013, marking its fourth visit to the emirate.
