It is a scourge that worries police officers. The TGV station of Marne-la-Vallée Chessy (Seine-et-Marne) has become a playground for pickpockets. Last Wednesday, an Indonesian tourist paid the price, reports Le Parisien.

Around 22:30 p.m., this 43-year-old woman was stolen 8,000 euros from her bag. The 11-year-old thief quickly handed the money over to accomplices, who fled. Only the very young pickpocket was able to be arrested by the Railway Security officers. The child, from Bosnia and Herzegovina, was taken to the Chessy-Lagny police station before being handed over to Child Welfare.

Another victim the next day

On Thursday evening, in the same station, it was a Brazilian tourist who was robbed of 400 euros. A 13-year-old boy was arrested and taken into custody. His accomplices left with the loot.

These young pickpockets, who act as gangs, are difficult to identify. When they are arrested, they always refuse fingerprinting and photos. In addition, once the stolen tourists return home, the police can no longer call on them to identify the suspects. This complicates the work of investigators.
