A 28-year-old man was tried on Wednesday in immediate appearance before the judicial court of Orleans (Loiret). He was arrested on April 6 after speeding in Orville, driving a van, reports La République du Centre.

Controlled at 132 km / h on a road limited to 80 km / h, the driver was chased by the gendarmes. They finally discovered the vehicle in a parking lot, without its occupant. He had hidden in a dumpster to try to escape arrest.

Several speeding offences

Positive for narcotics at the time of this speeding, the suspect also did not officially have a driver's license. It had been cancelled by the authorities after a previous traffic offence. He was also still awaiting trial for a first speeding offence in November 2022, again under the influence of cannabis.

The defendant denied having been driving the van on the day of the incident. The court still sentenced him to eighteen months in prison including 9 months suspended, three fines for a total of 600 euros and an obligation of care.
