A 30-year-old man was stabbed to death near the train station of Melun (Seine-et-Marne) on Monday in the middle of the day. The incident occurred around 12:30 p.m. The victim died as a result of his injuries.

Mobilized, the police cut off traffic and established a security perimeter to secure the premises and take the first samples, says Le Parisien. A witness who would have witnessed the whole scene was found at the end of the day by investigators.

No arrests at this time

An investigation was opened and entrusted to the judicial police of Seine-et-Marne. "Investigations are underway to determine the circumstances" of this deadly attack, said the Melun prosecutor's office to AFP. At this stage, no arrests have yet taken place.

According to rumors circulating among residents, the victim would be from Dammarie-les-Lys. "We expect reprisals but it's quiet for now," a resident told Le Parisien. The possibility of settling scores between drug traffickers is also being considered.
