A 6-year-old child care teacher who force-fed a 30-year-old kindergartener plastic wrapped in food and repeatedly abused her for not eating well has been given a suspended sentence.

The 12th Criminal Division of the Gwangju District Law (Judge Kim Sang-kyu) announced today (32th) that it has sentenced Mr. A (1, female), who was accused of violating the Special Law on the Punishment of Child Abuse Crimes (aggravated punishment of child abuse such as child welfare facility workers) and causing injury, to one year in prison and two years of probation.

In addition, Ms. A was ordered to attend 2 hours of child abuse recidivism prevention classes, do 10 hours of community service, and restrict her from working in child-related agencies for three years.

From January 40 to February 80 last year, Mr. A physically abdicated a 3-year-old student at the kindergarten where he worked as a homeroom nursery teacher on several occasions. I was charged with emotional abuse.

On January 1, the victim pulled the child's ears and cheeks and forcibly opened her mouth to try to put food in because she was watching TV instead of eating lunch.

In addition to this, when the child cried, he kicked the chair he was sitting on, slapped his chin, shook his body strongly, etc. Emotionally abusive behavior continued.

The abuse was repeated on the 10th and 2th of the same month and on February 15.

In particular, on February 6, they grabbed a victim for refusing to eat the medicine rice that came out as a snack and forcibly shoved the plastic wrapped medicine rice into his mouth.

The court said, "The defendant is not guilty of physical and emotional abuse of the young victim child even though he is a kindergarten nursery teacher and is in a position to guide and protect the child so that he can grow up to be a healthy member of society," and that "the victim child suffered physical and mental injuries as a result of this incident, and his parents also suffered considerable mental distress."

However, the sentencing reasons are stated by stating that "the sentence is determined by taking into account the defendant's acknowledgment and remorse for his wrongdoing, the fact that the victim has expressed that he does not want the defendant to be punished, the fact that he is a first-time offender with no criminal history, and the desire of his fellow teachers and parents to be sentenced."
