It lasted just over three weeks. The strike of Nantes garbage collectors, who challenged the pension reform project, was lifted this Thursday morning by a staff vote. The collection of household waste has therefore resumed around 7 am in a part of the Nantes agglomeration, announces Nantes metropolis.

Nearly 25 garbage trucks are in operation, says the community. However, the treatment sites of the Prairie de Mauves and Couëron are, for the time being, still closed due to the social movement.

The quantities of waste accumulated in the streets are such that it will take several days before the city's city centers are cleared. The presence of many garbage bags on the road was the main reason that led to the postponement of the carnival of Nantes, which was to begin Sunday.

The collection of household waste has also resumed in Paris since Wednesday.
