760 kg of cocaine, hidden in imported leather, worth 23 million euros, for a turnover that would have yielded over 60.

This is the value of the seizure carried out by the Bologna police that it dismantled an international drug trafficking network.

Twenty-one precautionary measures have been issued: the suspects are mostly Italians and Dominicans. The charges are, in various capacities and for all, of are of criminal association aimed at drug trafficking, possession for quantities of drugs and money laundering. Among the suspects there is also an Albanian.

According to what has been reconstructed, the drugs arrived from South America in Italy hidden in containers loaded with raw bovine leather, material destined for a company created ad hoc for the trafficking of substances. Over 700 kilos of cocaine were hidden among the pieces, packaged in loaves identical to each other in appearance, size and weight of about 500 grams each.

In the space of just over a year, starting in February 2022, the police carried out numerous searches thus hitting the Dominican criminal association. Huge sums of money were also seized during the investigations.

The search operations were carried out at the places of residence of the suspects and also led to the confiscation of five cars and a motorcycle.
