The tragic accident in which
four children were killed is a rallying cry between the local government and Nigerian residents.

In particular, this family was reportedly damaged by fire two years ago, and reporter Kim Ji-wook tells their story.

The hospital where the parents of the
deceased children and their youngest daughter are being treated.

Local Nigerians gather one by one.

[Bereaved acquaintance: (The first child) was very naughty. When he started going to school, he was quiet, lively and nice.]

The children's uncle, who said he spoke to his nieces and nephews last week, swallowed back tears [

Kennessy Waffo/Bereaved family of the fire: I got a call (from another family) asking what happened, and I said, 'I don't know, I need to go to the hospital.' But four children died. I'm so sad.]

The Nigerian ambassador to Korea who visited the hospital was also heartbroken.

[Mohammed Magashi/Nigerian Ambassador to the Republic of Korea: We will support them, we will stand with them. Something very unfortunate happened. This should never happen again.]

More than a decade ago, the couple came to Korea on a trade management visa and made a living by exporting second-hand Korean goods to Nigeria, while their children reportedly attended a multicultural school.

In particular, two years ago, a fire broke out while living in another house, and the second child, who died this time, suffered serious burns, and a company that heard about the difficult situation at that time subsidized the cost of burn treatment.

[Multicultural school official: At that time, there was a fire under the ring, and now when all the children are out, they said that the second child had autism and that he had gone into the fire now, and now he burned a lot.]

NGOs and the Ansan Nigerian community plan to form a support task force and raise money to help with hospital bills and funeral procedures.

Ansan City is also considering emergency subsistence support and housing arrangements.
