A woman in her 20s who was undergoing neck disc surgery at Mo Spine Hospital in Gwangju died, and the police concluded that the medical staff could not be punished for the incident.

This is because it was determined that anesthetic side effects caused by the patient's genetic factors were the cause of death.

On the 27th, the Violent Crime Investigation Unit of the Gwangju Police Agency dismissed all seven medical personnel who had been arrested in this regard.

On June 7 last year, a woman in her 6s who was undergoing neck disc surgery at Gwangju A Spine Hospital fell into a coma during the operation and died after being urgently transported to a large general hospital.

The bereaved family filed a complaint, claiming medical malpractice, and the police investigated three doctors, two nurses, and two nursing assistants from Hospital A without arrest.

The police asked the National Institute of Scientific Investigation Analysis and the Korean Medical Association Medical Appraisal Service to determine whether the case was medically negligent.

The bureau judged it to the effect that "it appears to be a rare case of adverse anesthetic side effects caused by high fever due to genetic factors."

The Medical Audit Office also sent an emotional result, saying that "the patient died due to side effects of anesthetics."

When the patient showed abnormal symptoms during the operation, the police took measures such as immediately transferring him to the emergency room of a large hospital, and decided that it was difficult to hold the medical staff responsible for negligence, and decided to "not remand" the existing "no charges."

On the other hand, apart from the above incident, an additional complaint has been filed at Hospital A about a medical accident in which a perforated intestine was found after surgery on a herniated disc and died after receiving inpatient treatment for three months, and the police are investigating separately.

In 2, three doctors and three nursing assistants were punished for performing surrogate surgery, and last year, three doctors and one nursing assistant were sent to the prosecutor's office due to allegations of surrogate surgery.
