• M6 broadcasts this Friday, March 24 at 21:10 pm the third issue of "Who can beat us", a French creation of Studio 89.
  • Six personalities, including Hélène Ségara, Paul El Kharrat and Stéphane Plaza, compete against 100 candidates on their theme of expertise, in order to win a viewer.
  • "The fear of making a fool of oneself could be present in some," admits Kamila Fievet-Palies, the game's producer.

In the M6 group, the hosts and columnists are not just presenters, they are also experts in their field. And it is on these subjects that they pass on the grill in "Who can beat us?", whose third number is broadcast this Friday at 21:10 on the sixth channel. After, among other examples, Cristina Cordula, previously questioned on fashion, or Philippe Etchebest, on cooking, it is the turn of Eric Antoine, Stéphane Plaza or Hélène Ségara to play against a hundred candidates. Is it really easy to convince celebrities to participate in this game? Are they afraid of achieving a poor result and losing credibility?

"All of them are really excited to be here and they all played the game," Kamila Fievet-Palies, program director of the production company Studio 20, told 89 Minutes. "Yes, the fear of making a fool of themselves may have been present at the beginning for many," she admits, "but they are confident about their expertise in their field. It's also our job to reassure them, to explain to them that to err is human and that everyone is wrong sometimes."

Revisions before participating in the game

Some experts invited to this Friday's show play a little bigger in terms of images, such as Stéphane Plaza, asked about real estate. "We don't differentiate between guests," says Kamila Fievet-Palies. "Obviously the risk-taking is stronger for Stéphane Plaza compared to Elodie Gossuin who will be questioned on the theme of the media. But the difference is minimal, because Elodie does not want to look ridiculous either so she will also have the pressure like the others. She also revised a lot before the shooting. »

Some personalities are questioned about their passion and not their job, such as the member of the "Big Heads" Paul El Kharrat who will have history as his theme. "We can quite open the next castings with celebrities in the field of comedy or music who have a strong passion," suggests the representative of Studio 89.

Prime time, the new Eldorado of TV games

The concept of the M6 show may have inspired TF1 which will launch in prime time in the coming months "The Wheel", the adaptation of a game of general British culture animated by Arthur. Various celebrities will have a favorite theme. "The mechanics are completely different," says Kamila Fievet-Palies. "Even if they have interesting personalities, nothing will stop us from having them in 'Who Can Beat Us?' later, and vice versa."

"Who can beat us?" had good results for its first two issues on M6 with 25% of audience on the commercial target. "We have already sold the format in three different countries," says Kamila Fievet-Palies. "It gives ideas to continue daring to create game shows, including for prime time." Other issues of "Who can beat us?" are planned, with several new personalities we are assured.
