• The fifth episode of Koh-Lanta, the sacred fire was broadcast this Tuesday on TF1.
  • Benjamin, a 23-year-old from Marseille, decided to give up. In particular, he suffered from infectious otitis.
  • "I was at my worst. I had nothing left to give, no more energy, no more resources. I couldn't go any further physically," he told 20 Minutes.

He was at the end of his rope and he decided to give up. Benjamin left "Koh-Lanta, the sacred fire" on the thirteenth day of adventure, as seen by the faithful of the TF1 show, this Tuesday.

The infectious otitis he suffered from since the day before was "the sledgehammer", confides the 23-year-old Marseille sailor to 20 Minutes. "I was forbidden to hunt underwater for at least a week," he says. It came on top of the other galleys and that's one of the factors that made me crack. »

In addition to his ENT pain, the youngest adventurer of this season was struggling to cope with weather conditions, including a Dantesque rain that showered his last night on the island.

"The worst moment of my life"

He also felt weakened. "If I had known, I would have gained weight before coming. I would have made reserves because that's what I lacked in terms of energy, I had nothing more to give physically, "he says.

After spending a night in the infirmary, the young man had joined his yellow tribe to compete in a final test of comfort, that of rafts. "The fact that it was lost had no bearing on my decision. I had taken it before the event. In my head, it was all thoughtful. If we had won, I would have left my share of chicken to the team. »

In hindsight, Benjamin has no regrets about forfeiting. "I never thought I would give up, but I don't regret it because, when I think back to that moment, which was the worst of my life, I was at my worst. I had nothing left to give, no more energy, no more resources. I couldn't go any further physically. »
