  • Cédric Tauleygne, the father of the two children of the fleeing teacher, with whom she was divorcing, was quickly suspected of being the author of this double murder.
  • The body of a man "likely to match that of Cédric Tauleygne" was found near Jaca in Spain on Sunday, not far from where the suspect's motorcycle was found in July.

Eight months after the murder of two teachers at Desaix College in Tarbes, the investigation could take a turn in the coming hours. On July 4, Aurélie Pardon, 32, and Gabriel Fourmigué, 55, were shot dead in Pouyastruc, a village in the Hautes-Pyrénées. Cédric Tauleygne, the husband of the young woman with whom he was in the process of separating, had been quickly suspected and a wanted notice had been issued by the national gendarmerie.

Since then, investigators have been looking for him in the area of Jaca, Spain, where the motorcycle of this sports shooter had been found. On Sunday, around noon, a man who was participating in a hunting party found in an undergrowth a corpse in an advanced state of decomposition on the slopes of the Peña Oroel, according to the Spanish newspaper Heraldo. Near the body were a white motorcycle helmet, a bag with ammunition, a phone and a pistol that the man was holding in his hand, suggesting that he ended his life.

Ongoing technical investigations

"I can confirm that a body likely to match that of Cédric Tauleygne was found in the search area, on the Spanish side. However, it is necessary to remain cautious at this stage since technical investigations are underway to confirm, or even deny, that the body considered is that of the wanted individual, "said to 20 Minutes the prosecutor of the Republic of Pau, Rodolphe Jarry whose prosecutor had opened "a judicial investigation of the charge of premeditated murder".

An autopsy that can confirm that it is indeed the suspect should be carried out at the hospital of Huesca where the body was taken in a helicopter of the Spanish Guardia Civil. Aged 34, Cédric Tauleygne, who worked in a factory in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques manufacturing helicopter engines, was suspected of having premeditated the murder of the mother of his two children and Gabriel Fourmigué whom she had recently become closer.
