A 31-year-old man was stabbed with a knife after an altercation on the Send in Münster and died. A previously unknown perpetrator was on Saturday evening at the fair on a carousel with the 31-Year-old in dispute, as the police and prosecutor's office announced.

The perpetrator is said to have stabbed his opponent with a knife in the course of the confrontation. Despite immediately initiated resuscitation measures, he died of his injuries on the spot.

According to previous findings, the two men had met by chance on the Send. The perpetrator was also traveling with a male companion. After the incident, both fled, said a police spokesman early Sunday morning. The search for the suspect continued.

The Send in Münster takes place three times a year on the fairground on the Schlossplatz. The folk festival attracts "up to one million visitors every year," the city says on its website. Up to 200 fairground businesses gather at the fair every time. This year's spring end ends this Sunday.
