It's hard to escape Aurel's trait. The Montpellier cartoonist, who won a César in 2021 for the animated film Josep, sketches the news for Politis, Le Canard enchaîné and Le Monde. On March 24, he will publish The Three Lives of Arminé, a documentary comic book, which led him, with his friend Fredo from Barback's Ogres, in the footsteps of an Armenian woman with an extraordinary journey. But Aurel exposes, too.

Until July 29th, the Hérault artist puts his kit in Pierresvives, in Montpellier. The media library invites the curious to relive Aurel's journey, through works inspired by his other passion: music. We discover his early years, during which he had set up a jazz group with friends, the Flyin' Pelardon.

Unreleased tracks by Ibrahim Maalouf and Magyd Cherfi

But above all, the exhibition brings together drawings by Massilia Sound System, Django Reinhardt, John Lennon or Bob Dylan, album covers, festival posters, unpublished sketches... And press cartoons where he does not spare Madonna or Michael Jackson.

The little plus of this route is that you can listen, thanks to headphones, throughout the visit, pieces that Ibrahim Maalouf or Magyd Cherfi have composed especially for the event. You would be wrong not to. Especially since it's free.
