Another fatal accident at work, happened yesterday afternoon in San Mauro Torinese. The victim is a 33-year-old Bosnian worker living in Biella. The man fell from the roof of a shed in Via Emilia during renovations. A flight of about ten meters that gave him no escape. The investigations of the carabinieri of the Chivasso company and the inspectors of the Spresa of the ASL To4 are underway to clarify the dynamics of the accident and verify compliance with the rules governing safety at work.
According to the first reconstructions, the man may have lost his balance walking on a plexiglass ondulin that moving would have plunged him into the void. The worker was working for a construction company in Biella with a regular contract.
The Ivrea prosecutor's office has opened an investigation for manslaughter, currently against unknown persons, to ascertain the exact causes of the accident and verify any responsibilities.
In the meantime, to allow investigations, the shed and one of the means used for the work were seized.
