Fishing nets can no longer be anonymous, they must be "signed", they must have a plate that allows the owner to be traced.

Just as one has the right to know who owns a gun or rifle, so it must be for a fishing net that kills much more than a rifle and, if lost at sea, much longer.

An abandoned net can kill for an entire century, as well as release particles of plastics and microplastics that are the main component of the now infamous Island of Garbage in the Pacific.

From a net you must be able to trace the owner fisherman so that if he loses it, he must try to recover it and, if he fails, warn the Coast Guard.

Only in this way can we put an end to this nightmare for the sea.
