"The Pearl Fisherman's Daughter" with Augmented Reality at the Museum of the Future
The Museum of the Future will host the Pearl Fisherman's Daughter Show on Tuesday, March 21 at 7:00 pm, blending the latest technology with kinetic performances, music and narrative, taking audiences on a unique journey with the waves of the Gulf in telling family stories, traditions, diving dangers and the wonders of the sea.
The show includes a contemporary kinetic performance with live storytelling, and relies on augmented reality techniques to highlight the traditional art of pearling. The show revolves around a pearl fisherman and his daughter and their journey to find a legendary pearl, in a fascinating story suitable for all ages and combining ancient heritage with artistic imagination.
Grammy Award-winning songwriter Mesa draws the role of storyteller in the show, a collaboration between Emirati writer Maitha Al Khayyat, Emirati composer Eman Al Hashemi, and Paul Emmerson of the renowned American contemporary dance company Company E, co-produced by Abu Dhabi Music & Arts Foundation, the U.S. Embassy in Abu Dhabi, and the Cultural Foundation.
