Lanzhou, March 3 (Zhongxin Net) -- "When I was a child, the wind and sand in Subei County were very strong, and sometimes stones could be blown up. Wang Yali, a "post-17s" from the forestry workstation of Subei Mongolian Autonomous County, Jiuquan City, Gansu Province, recently said in an interview with Chinanews.com that over the years, through large-scale planting of trees and grasses, the natural ecological environment of Subei County has been continuously improved.

Wang Yali, who was born in 1992, grew up in Subei County, and her childhood was accompanied by wind and sand, loess, and she said that when she breathes, she feels a smell of earth.

In 2014, Wang Yali gave up the opportunity to work in other places and chose to return to Subei County. She said, "I studied landscape architecture, so instead of working in other places, I should return to my hometown and use what I have learned to improve the environment in my hometown." ”

When she first started working, the head of the forestry station often chatted with her, and in addition to professional knowledge, he would also tell Wang Yali that nurturing trees is also educating people, and while planting trees, we must also learn from trees.

"The old station manager told me to be like a tree, always grow upward, and at the same time, be an honest person." She said.

As a "post-90s generation", Wang Yali often puts forward some "golden ideas". One day in 2016, when Wang Yali and her colleagues were talking about Li Guangxing in Dunhuang, they suddenly thought, can Li Guangxing's species be introduced in their hometown?

Wang Yali and her colleagues immediately began to try to plant Li Guangxing. Two years later, Li Guangxing successfully bore fruit, the apricot was bright yellow as gold, smooth and hairless, the flesh was dense and golden, and the taste was sweet and juicy. Wang Yali said with a smile, "Now, not only has 'Li Guangxing's freedom' been realized, but it has also driven the surrounding farmers to become rich together." ”

Every time she talks about the benefits of afforestation, Wang Yali always has endless words. For example, she said, "Ten years ago, there was no green in Shibaocheng and rural areas in Subei County, and many people had to worry about wind and sand when they worked, and they couldn't keep people. Now, there are more trees in Shibao's urban and rural areas, the environment is better, there are more people traveling, and the economic benefits are better. ”

Wang Yali, who has been working for nearly a decade, has traveled to all the townships in Subei County, and she said she hopes that wherever she goes, she can leave a green field for the local area.

Today, Wang Yali is also the mother of a 2-year-old child, and she often takes her child to see the trees she once planted. Her children can now accurately name many tree varieties.

Talking about the focus of this year's work, Wang Yali said that the water conservation and ecological protection and restoration project in the northern foothills of the Qilian Mountains in Jiuquan City, Gansu Province is now being carried out, which is one of the three key ecological protection and restoration projects planned and packaged by Jiuquan City in 2022, and has been included in the national "dual" planning project database of the <>th Five-Year Plan.

"A few days ago, the pruning and cleaning of dead trees and branches was completed, and the next step will be to replant the saplings." She said.

It is understood that after the completion of the project, it will effectively improve the quality of forestry and grassland in Subei County, promote the restoration of regional wild animal and plant populations and biodiversity conservation, enhance the structural integrity and functional stability of the plateau ecosystem, and play an important role in improving the ecological environment of the project area, maintaining the ecological security of the northern foothills of the Qilian Mountains, and improving the living standards of the people.
