Three gendarmes were seriously injured and a man they had come to arrest died in the explosion of a house Wednesday in La Chapelle (Allier), according to the prosecutor's office of Cusset.

"Three gendarmes were seriously injured following an explosion in a house in which they had come to arrest an individual, himself dead," said the prosecutor of the Republic of Cusset Eric Neveu. Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin said on Twitter that a total of seven gendarmes were wounded in the operation.

Seven gendarmes were injured, three of them very seriously following an explosion as part of an intervention in the Allier. I give them my full support.
