At "Kenrokuen" in Kanazawa City, work has begun to remove the "Yukitsuri" that protects tree branches from the weight of snow during the winter.

"Yukitsuri" is a method of reinforcing tree branches with ropes hanging from pillars to prevent them from breaking due to heavy snow that contains moisture.



Before the full-scale arrival of spring, the removal work began, and on the first day, the 15th, 13 people, including gardeners, worked on the approximately 200-year-old "Nest Gomori Pine".



Gardeners use bamboo poles with sickles and saws attached to the ends to neatly separate the ropes from the branches and bundle them, then slowly knock down the pillars called shinbashira that stand along the trunk of the tree and pull them out. I was.

Visitors took pictures of the work being done and enjoyed the atmosphere of the garden, which felt the coming of spring.
