Two men have been indicted and placed in provisional detention in the investigation into the murder in 2020 of a manager of a night establishment, whose body had been found in Centuri (Haute-Corse), we learned Wednesday from the prosecutor's office of the specialized interregional jurisdiction of Marseille.
Indicted for murder in an organized gang
"These two men in their thirties were indicted for murder in an organized gang and participation in a criminal association for the preparation of a crime," said the Jirs prosecutor's office. In total, nine people had been placed in police custody and several others heard in free hearing as part of this investigation, according to the same source, which said that "for the moment, no action (had been) retained against the other people heard".
The body hidden under leaves and decomposing of Damien Barchilon, 33, was discovered on October 5, 2020 in Centuri while he had been reported missing since September 13. He was last seen on September 9 in Tomino, a village near Centuri in Cap Corse.
Because of the "circumstances of its discovery", the criminal track had been quickly privileged, had then specified the prosecutor of the Republic of Bastia Arnaud Viornery, before relinquishing jurisdiction in favor of the Jirs of Marseille, competent in matters of serious organized crime.
