A large-scale trade fair showcasing defense equipment and the latest technologies has been held in Chiba City since the 15th.

This fair, which began at Makuhari Messe in Chiba City, is held in Japan by British companies and others for the first time in four years, and is supported by the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

More than 250 companies from Japan and abroad participated, and equipment for the Self-Defense Forces that shoot down drones by irradiating high-power lasers from devices mounted on vehicles, and a system that analyzes satellite photos taken of ports and the sea with AI = artificial intelligence to find suspicious ships are on display.

In addition, a booth was set up to explain the next fighter aircraft of the Japan Air Self-Defense Force, which is jointly developed by Japan, the United Kingdom, and Italy, and government officials from Japan and abroad who visited the venue listened to explanations from the people in charge at the booths of each company.

On the other hand, outside the venue, people who opposed the event were protesting, chanting "Arms fair is a good idea."

The fair will be open until the 17th.
